Although What's on in Exeter began its life with the purpose of primarily advertising live music entertainment in Exeter, we have now received so many requests from our many subscribers to include more diverse information that we've had to overhaul the site to reflect these changes. We hope you will find that it is now less cluttered and easier to navigate.

An impromptu pre-show Yuletide welcome will get you in the party mood ahead of the main event; two hours of rock and roll favourites such as Ready Teddy, Hound Dog, Devil in Disguise, Return to Sender, All Shook Up, Viva Las Vegas, Suspicious Minds PLUS popular festive songs such as Blue Christmas, Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree, Walking in a Winter Wonderland and, even a good old carol sing-along around the piano.

The Quo Experience

The Quo Experience is a new band on the Theatre scene that features the perfect tribute to the legendary duo of Rick Parfitt and Francis Rossi to help keep the memory of one of the biggest Rock Gods of them all alive. The magic and chemistry that the Parfitt/Rossi partnership brought to a Quo ‘live’ performance, along with the incredible energy that Rick Parfitt added to the show, is being continued within The Quo Experience.

A Christmas Carol
Exmouth Pavilion, Exmouth

On Christmas Eve, the most magical night of the year, the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge is whisked away on a terrifying journey through the past and into the future, accompanied by three fearsome ghosts determined to make him realise the true meaning of Christmas.

Charles Dickens’ classic ghost story is brought alive in this most traditional of productions, complete with beautiful period costume, song, dance and a magnificent, original musical score.

Waited upon by Basil, Sybil and Manuel, this is fully-immersive, highly-improvised and site-specific comedy theatre at its best. Only one third of the show is scripted, so anything can happen as you take a seat in the ‘Faulty Towers’ restaurant.

A Christmas Carol

The quintessential Victorian Christmas classic! This is a brand-new re-telling of the most thrilling Yuletide adventure of them all – Charles Dickens’ 'A Christmas Carol'.

First published in 1843, the story is credited with re-inventing and re-invigorating the British Christmas and has been loved by every generation since.

There can be no better way to herald in the Christmas celebrations than with Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Using the script and acting directions developed by Dickens himself, Pip Utton recreates the most popular of Dickens’ public readings in this almost totally candlelit performance of A Christmas Carol.

All tickets include mince pies and mulled wine, but why not complete your evening with a specially- themed pre show ‘Dickensian Dinner’.

New Year’s Eve Murder Mystery Evening

Black Day at Blackhawton Manor

The year is 1930, the date is New Year’s Eve and the location is a Manor House near Totnes.

What should be a convivial dinner party suddenly turns very tense as a sudden death occurs. A member of the party takes charge of the evening’s events and with your help we get to the truth before the stroke of midnight.


Tickets: £60, including a four-course meal, a glass of prosecco at midnight and live entertainment from our band until 1am. 1930s style dress is recommended.
