Batche Gueye Band

According to Worldmusic, ”Batch began singing prayers as a BayeFall Muslim. Naturally, many of his songs today are of praise, thanking Allah and thanking religious leaders that have guided the people of his country for years. Other songs are simply wise words, teaching people 'be good to yourself and respect those around you' to listen, to trust and to have faith in life. Batch sings his songs in the Senegalese language 'Wolof', however language does not obstruct his music and the passion Batch has for all he sings can be heard and understood by all”. See link here.

Dakar Audio Club

A 5-piece Afrofusion band playing a mix of songs in Bambara, Wolof, French & English.

The music is a mix of traditional Malian Blues, Soukouss, Highlife & Reggae but also with some modern sounds. In their own words, the music is inspired by "the sounds you would hear on a crackly transistor radio walking the streets of Dakar, Lagos or Banjul".

Artists they like are Salif Keita, Aurlus Mabele, Ali Farka Toure, The Congos, Link Wray, Marley, Alpha Blondy, Lucky Dube, Paul Simon, Jimi Hendrix, Peaking Lights, Pentangle, Neil Young & Wes Montgomery.
